            Secure Cloud Connector

            1.0 Overview

            The Secure Cloud Connector (SCC) is a hardened, purpose-built Linux virtual machine designed to integrate with our cloud-based service.
             

            1.1 Requirements


            • Inbound/Outbound Firewall Rules
            • VMWare ESX Server v4.0+  (1 CPU, 2 GB Memory, 50 GB Storage, 1 NIC)


            2.0 Download the Secure Cloud Connector


            Login to your VMWare ESX server using the vSphere Client and run the "Deploy OVF Template" wizard. File > Deploy OVF Template

            Deploy the Secure Cloud Connector from the following URL: https://docs.zoho.com/file/1n7ky3753bfee32e144adb88cf6ee019106f7

            Click Next.

            Name: SDC VM. Click Next.

            Choose Thin Provision. Click Next.

            Click Next.

            Click Finish to begin deploying the Secure Directory Connector.

            The OVA is 2.3GB and may take a while to download and deploy on slower Internet connections.

             


            Click Next.


            Name: SDC VM.  Click Next.


            Choose Thin Provision.  Click Next.



            Click Next.


            Click Finish to begin deploying the Secure Directory Connector.


            The OVA is 1.6GB and may take a while to download and deploy on slower Internet connections.

            3.0 Configure the Secure Cloud Connector

            Start the Virtual Machine and open a console window.  Choose Option 1 - Configure Network Settings


            Select interface 1.  (Do not select the 2nd interface.)


            Type y and then press Enter.


            Type the IP Address you want to assign to the Secure Directory Connector.  Then press Enter.


            Type the network subnet mask.  Then press Enter.


            Type the network gateway IP Address.  Then press Enter.


            Type y and then press Enter.


            Type the IP Address of the Primary DNS Server.  Then press Enter.  Type the IP Address of the Secondary DNS Server. Then press Enter.


            Type y to confirm the DNS servers were added correctly.  Then press Enter.


            Choose option 2 save your configuration.  Then press Enter.



            4.0 Activate the Secure Cloud Connector

            After the Secure Cloud Connector has been setup on your network, contact Technical Support to have it activated. Open a support ticket by clicking the "Support" icon inside the Cloud Portal. In most cases Technical Support can activate your SCC within 24-hours.
